The Yorkshire Hawking Club
Dear Friends,
I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking our first meeting went
very well. We had a great turnout, the venue was warm and welcoming,
the food was plentiful and the company was first class.
In particular, thanks for making the evening such a success
must go to George Duncalf from Fenlands BOP Rescue.
George travelled a considerable distance to be with us, to share
his knowledge and experiences. His talk on the
rehabilitation of injured, wild raptors for release was
interesting and informative, and while it covered a serious subject
(George pulled no punches regarding the downside where birds are too
badly injured to ever be released!) it was also laced with humour.
George’s gift of a wonderful, framed owl print was an
unexpected and welcome addition to the raffle prizes on
offer. Congratulations to the Kerr family on winning it.
